Schoolhouse Rock

On January 24, 2022, nearly 2,200 elementary children from Sioux Falls schools with high rates of poverty, came to the beautiful Washington Pavilion to see a live stage performance of Schoolhouse Rock. What an exciting and uplifting experience this was for these kids – most who were visiting the Pavilion for the first time and seeing a professional live stage performance for the first time. These experiences can open a child’s eyes to so many things.
Schoolhouse Rock

Big eyes, huge smiles and loud cheering as 2,200 kids rock out to Schoolhouse Rock.

Our partnership with the Washington Pavilion, along with a $10,000 grant from South Dakota Trust Co., opened up an opportunity to purchase tickets and provide transportation to send 2200 elementary students to see the live performance of Schoolhouse Rock. We saw big eyes on these kids as they walked into the beautiful and historic Washington Pavilion. From their seats, we saw huge smiles and heard load cheering as most of these kids experienced live professional theatre for the first time.
